Meh.

Nursing student. Atheist. Bookworm. Jill-of-all-arts.

Nursing School…

…is currently kicking my ass.

I’m taking the beating pretty well, though. I got a high B on the first test. I’m hoping for an A tomorrow.

I had a 3.9 GPA going into the program. I’m not exactly used to this thing where it’s almost impossible to make an A on a test, but I’m slowly accepting it.

Still, I WANT AN A tomorrow!

yeahwriters:

This is so cool! There used to be one for bands/musicians too, I can’t find it, but you type in an author’s name and similar-style authors come up.

Although it does make me want to punch a baby that I typed in JK Rowling and the closest author was Stephenie Meyer. FALSE.

—Sea Wolf - Middle Distance Runner

This song eats away at my heart. It’s the explanation I needed so many years ago.

Well I’m so sad tonight

And the words won’t come out right

It’s been a long day on the track

And it’s stamina that I lack

So won’t you run to me tonight

Tonight we could pretend that we’re just lovers

But I’ll only ever be

A middle distance runner

Well my heart is beating hard

And I’m off with a shot at the start

And my legs tremble from strain

But by the finish line I am drained

So won’t you run to me tonight

Tonight let’s not talk about next summer

‘Cause I’ll only ever be

A middle distance runner

Well I’m so proud tonight

Of the woman you’ve become

And I’m just too tired to fight

So my darling, I’ll succumb

But you’ll have to run to me tonight

Tonight I will love you forever

But I’ll only ever be

A middle distance runner

Further studies about western diets, go here.

1. I’m not a mouse.
2. I am not genetically predisposed to breast cancer.
3. A diet with that much protein puts you at risk of colon cancer, not to mention kidney and liver disease.
4. Tumors may run off of carbs (glucose), but so does your brain.
Now, if we want to extrapolate from the study that a person who already has cancer may benefit from switching to a low-carb high-protein diet during treatment, I’d be open to that. Otherwise, I think I’ll stick to getting plenty of whole grains.

Sonnet 116

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken.
Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle’s compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

~William Shakespeare

You guys, what do you think the rules are about hanging your boudoir photos up in your home? Like I want to hang this in our room so much, but I feel like it will be awkward for guests. (Even though we barely ever have any) I was reading this article on offbeatmama and it got me thinking about it even more. What do you guys think? Too weird?

You could find some old, small window shutters (or make some) and frame the picture with those to make it look like you’re staring out of an open window, and then close that when you feel like it.
You could also maybe use some material to make “curtains” around the picture that are tied back and can be untied when you want to hide it.

Excuse me while I geek out.

I just got home from watching Harry Potter in 3D IMAX.

It was amazing. I cried from beginning to end. My 3D glasses were fogging up. Honestly, I think I still have some grieving left to do, but I’m too tired right now.

These last two movies were everything I needed them to be. I just wish I could thank J.K. Rowling in person for all the joy she has brought into my life with these books and movies.
